Awesome gift to complete the set. The only full set I have yet is Lincoln Memorial and so far shield. Wheaties are lacking before 1940.

That little blue Tiffany box seems to work very well. If you stick to sterling the prices are fairly reasonable too. In my experience Tiffany makes Jared look like a chump.

My dad got my mom a $500 Nordstrom gift card, since he knows he can't pick out clothes for her himself, and she'll be hesitant to spend much otherwise. That worked pretty well.

Congratulations on finishing your set! Those are some nice quarters.

Thanks all. It's been an awesome Christmas. To those who asked, nearly my entire set is MS63 our better but coins like these aren't there. These are graded F12. I'm thrilled with them and I'm married to a really good egg..

I don't know Washington quarters well... the black around the mintmarks... thats just crud, right? Not shaved from another quarter and glued on... i.e. forgery/counterfeit?

CJ, just dirt, these are certified F12 and came from one of the largest dealers in the country.

The mint marks look right to me -- although I'm not an expert. But I have one 1932 S and two 1932 D's -- and that's how they look. I was curious about the MM's when I got mine and they all look a bit tall, like they were stuck on.

Perhaps the MM's were added to the dies by a really aggressive worker.

I've noticed this on a lot of common circulated Washingtons. I wouldn't worry about it.

It is completely normal. My 32-D and 32-S also look like that...
