Looks more like a 86 to me. The reverse only appears strong because of the circulation cameo.
I do think it might make FR-02. Not quite poor.

I'm definitely seeing an 188, but I'm an oddball, I think the last digit is a 4. 1884 is my guess.

To me, it's the thickness of the lettering that stands out, highlighting where the doubling once was. This is a dramatic variety in higher grades, but if my guess is correct, I certainly have never seen one in this state.

This is the lowest grade of this I've seen. And yes 1865 DDR Fancy 5 S-2. This is the 5th one I've cherrypicked in the last 10 years. Hard coin to come by but not as hard as the 1870 S-5 that eludes me still to this day. Thanks for the comments!    |

Technically, obverse would lowball (the coin's date can be positively identified by the unique die features of the reverse) but reverse has too much detail. PO1 obv, AG3 rev, net Fr 2. Nice cherrypick -- you should send a picture of this one to Rick & see if he will do an Eagle Eye card for it :P
