I'd take coin B because the reverse of Coin A is mottled which detracts from the design and the eye appeal. Neither one has original looking surfaces.

Still, 1799 is the most common date in the series. "Select don't settle" is good advice here.

B. I like coins framed by toning. To me better eye appeal. I agree with an earlier comment that A may be a higher technical grade or possibly more original. It can be hard to tell from photos.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I took Bill Jones advice and held off. I actually found a better example in an upcoming auction.
