can you post a close up of that area? The high points are the 1st places someone grading the coin would look at.

It looks like discoloration on the hair and the ear. It could be toning (good), mark (bad), or rub (disastrous). Since you said in the other thread this is MS65, it looks like the grader chalked it up as toning. 65 if toning, 64 if its a mark and 58 if it is rub. I can only grade what I see. Yes it most likely is toning or lighting. Seems like a lot of bu morgans have that area a little darker than other hair spots. Not sure why but the one I linked is ms67 so I don't think they would grade it 65 if it was contact or rub.

It looks like an MS-65 to me.

Weak strike. Pretty coin though. The cheek is clean of any deep scratches, just light scuffs, so I'd go MS-65. I wouldn't be surprised if PCGS gave it a conservative grade like 64 since its an ogh.
