Looks like they all came from same bag! Actually, they all came from the same environment. They were stored in old 2X2 flips in a TN attic for several years (1985-1992). Then they lived in a BancorpSouth safety deposit box during my college years (1993-1998) and through to 2007, after which he purchased his own safe. When my dad purchased them in the 1960s and 70s they were aleady in those old 2X2 flips. . . . for who knows how long. This is why most of them tend to exhibit erratic toning patterns. Yeah, I was able to capture the luster on that baby pretty well- very happy with that one. I'm quite fond of the toning on the 1924 too. Most of them have exquisite luster. It's too bad that weak strikes are so typical with this series. Morgans photograph so much better than Peace dollars, but at least these pics match the in-hand appearance. |
