Could be wrong, but the rim suggests not a capped die. It seems well developed for the most part. A capped die generally has a beveled appearance.

Struck Through Grease seems most likely. Thanks, Doug.

Thank you Halo1st! Probably a severe case of being Struck Through Grease. If it was a die cap, the whole coin and details would be mushy looking. :)

I think it's a Greaser. The die caps I've seen are more overall distorted, and as mentioned the rims are normal. It also has Greaser hallmarks. It has the greasy area with only the nearby devices affected. It's a Greaser, I'd bet my hat on it, if I had a hat.
