Thank you everyone and those who said thank you, you're very welcome! Sorry if I took awhile to respond. I was at Chunky's watching the new Jigsaw movie. This find has put a big fat smile on my face since these are great and fun to find. Occasionally, people will unkowningly spend Clipped Planchets and eventually will show up into a coin collecter's hand. I also wonder what year is the most common to be spent with Clipped Planchets. It's shape for it's age. Still shows a ton of Mint Luster still.

Thank you Tunnioc! Finally found itself it's way home. Still shows a lot of mint luster. This is what keeps us motivated and searching. A good reason why I love my hobby. :-)

Thank you stoneman277! These are always fun to find in circulated bankrolls. It will probably be awhile until I find another one.

High grade and lots of luster means that it HASN'T been in circulation very long. It has spent all that time probably in a change jar or in some other collectors hoard that just got spent recently by someone that didn't know any better. Just because a 50 year old coin is found in circulation doesn't mean that it has actually been circulating for 50 years.

Thank your Conder101 for your comment. It's more on the AU grade because there's a ton of details left and is barely worn. Minor wear.

I agree with Conder101.

Not much chance that this coin would have survived 50 years of passing through peoples hands without someone noticing the clip.

Possibly a result of Susie making a raid on Grandma's piggy bank.

Thank you 11997755. If it was truly in circulation for 50 years straight, it would be very worn and have almost no details left. Most likely someone raiding through a coin collecter's pile.
