I found one yesterday but it is a little beat up. I am going through my first two boxes and getting over whelmed with all the errors I really got lucky and trying to get them in order so I can show what I found and what a newbie can do when getting started

1916 clipped planchet 2 1957 DDO and rpm verified on Wexler website 1983 brass planchet uncirculated I got lots I will post when I get them in order

Thanks for the pic, myshipper. So, you have weighed that '83 and it is in the 3.1 gram range? If so, you may have quite the rarity there.

Just out of curiosity now that I am thinking about it - how much you figure a brass cent would weigh? I assumed it would be about the same as bronze...

I'm sorry guys I thought I stated brass plated my mistake as I look back on my previous post and yes it only weighs 2.5 but it's still a cool looking coin

As a note on the Brass, all that is is a bit more zinc/tin in the copper alloy mix. Bronze is the normal plating, a .02% change will alter the color. They are NOT completely brass.
