Just having fun. But I do admit to poking through the "Leave a Penny" tray.

If I see a lot of bright new coins I sometimes ask if I can have some in change!

hahah not only do I not care about being "obtrusive" I will ask for specific coins back in change...

ie: I see the register open and there's a colorized coin.... I will ask for it back in change. Most tellers couldn't care less.

I use the line, "Would you humor me." before I ask. Usually brings a smile.

. If I see a desired coin, on comes the charm and the coins go home with me.

Has anyone just asked for an unopened roll of coins as their change if they have paid with a larger bill.

I requested some rolled coins as my change today for a smaller purchase paid with a larger bill. Got a couple of newer coins but they were not the ones that I still need. My issue is that I do not pay with cash too often which makes getting coins harder and harder.

I use a CC most often. However, I have frequently asked for a roll back. It gets funny looks sometimes, but most don't care one way or the other as it is all the same to them.

But when asking for rolled coins, what is the percentage that you actually find anything. Seems like I am just rerolling the coins that I receive.
