N-13 and almost certainly Randall Hoard. Really beautiful. Only the cheek and the hit in front of the nose are distractions, and minor at that. Luster and strike are good. My TPG grade MS 64 BN, EAC grade 60 net 55 and choice. one the best eye appeal LC's I have seen in a while. she's a stunner for sure. at least MS64BN and personally I think it makes 65. those tiny little marks in my mind keep it from 66 not from 65

Another vote for MS64BN. Very attractive, with what looks like strong luster which is not that common on uncirculated large cents.  |

And the results. The holder made it affordable.  However, I had to pay a premium over MS-62 money ro get her.  I got this coin through Chris McCawley, who believed that the various hits that numismatic_student pointed out were the reason why it did not grade higher. Nevertheless, I am happy with my purchase as I think I maximized the quality-to-price ratio for the type. These images are truer to the actual color of the coin. It looks more like toned silver than copper.   |

CVM knows his early copper. I love that coin. It's as good as some of the Twin Leaf coins that Chris had, in their ability to make me stop and stare and drool like an idiot.

It is not that often that a TPGrader comes in lower than what I may think. That is a good thing in this case, because there is always pressure for a TPGrader to be optimistic - customers are encouraged by higher grades. A generous result attracts more customers. The OP can now rest assured that this coin had been graded honestly. It may well be to his profit that a hard copy of this thread is kept with the coin.  |

NGC is technically tough on these. Could easily grade higher from PCGS. I'd leave it alone though. Very nice!
