It's only amazing that anyone cares why it was made.

Maybe some of the almost 3000 people's relatives that died that day? Probably the first coin show in NY since

I might take it if it was a freebie at a show. Well, maybe not.

If you are looking for technical errors the label says 2002-P but the quarter is a 2001. Can't be certain but the mintmark looks like a D.
If I somehow came to possess this I'd crack the quarter and spend it. Maybe someone would enjoy getting it in change....

This is the kind of thing they usually give out to kids for free at coin shows.

There's no grade on it, so is it really "masquerading as a TPG"?

Most samples don't have grades.
Most samples come from TPGs.

Not sure what was in Coinland's head...

Well, if there is no such thing as bad press, this thread might be proof.

Actually JBuck it's circulated and stickered, not proof...

No, I was not saying the coin is a proof.

I was speculating that this thread (topic, post) is proof (evidence) that there is no such thing as bad press.

You wondered what was in Coinland's head, I was speculating something akin to bad marketing.
