I can't since I don't have Acetone in the house. It's raised on the coin like a Die Break. Not sure what it is exactly.

You soak it in acetone for a while? I had a Liberty nickel with something like discolored varnish or platicoat, took about 3-4 hous soaking to finally loosen it to peal off.

Crazyb0, unfortunately I don't have any Acetone in the house. I'll have to buy some when I get a chance. Walmart has 100% pure Acetone.

I'll be working at Walmart tomorrow, so when my shift ends, I'll buy Acetone and give it a soak.

A good soaking will help loosen it if it's some kind of adhesive.
And hopefully you get an employee discount on the acetone
Looking forward to seeing the outcome!

Thank you Tootallious. I'm honestly excited for the outcome as well. Since I have been working at Walmart for 3 months, they gave me a 10% discount card and I use it on every purchase I make there now. :-)

Update: I picked up the Acetone today at Walmart today (100% pure Acetone) I was getting ready to soak it, but I tried picking off that spot with my fingernail and it came right off. I threw it back in my change bucket. Oh well, at least I got it for face value.

Oh well. That's okay. I got it for face value anyway from my bank. It was found in a circulated bankroll from a bankbox of U.S. Pennies.

You're welcome. Now I know what it was now. It was just some type of sticky residue on the coin.

Sometimes your the dog and sometimes you the tire. LOL But it happens. Always nice to figure things out, even if they are not what you want to see/hear.
