The over all design is normal, so no more images are needed. Even from a distance, your coin is not the big DDO.

Hello! I wanted to share an image with everyone to gather opinions. I had recently sent the image to a reputable auction gallery for an opinion. His response was "I am not a specialist in this particular DDO/RPM but if it were my coin I most certainly would send it PCSG for grading immediately". The opportunity to have the coin presented within their auctions was also also offered. I am just trying to now read up on the process of sending it into PCGS. I had recently become addicted to coin hunting despite my family's jokes. One day, I know deep down that they will be eating crow for years to come! Thanks for additional 13151339_1D6E2426-CD68-42C2-80C1-B3441B0970F0.jpg[/

I also thought the same initially however each area that appears to be doubled also matches up with authentic DDO online. Would Machine Doubling produce an exact replica? I always thought Machine Doubling was almost a ghost like doubling effect yet this coin has actual ridges where the doubling takes place, as if it were hit twice etc... So you would definitely say that this coin isn't anything special and can go into my purse for spending? Just need to be sure. Thank you

The double laying on the date and mint Mark seem to be going north west, however the double laying in the word liberty simply points north. I don't know if that makes any difference about the price of tea in China, but I had to ask LOL.

That's just Machine Doubling, not even close to the big DDO. If the mintmark has identical doubling, then it is not a doubled die. Doubled dies from before 1990 would not affect the mintmark as the mintmark was added to the die separately. Machine Doubling is shelf-like doubling. Die Deterioration Doubling is the ghost-like doubling. What "reputable auction" would tell you to get this graded? They may be reputable, but they are not knowledgeable. Do not get it graded, it is not a doubled die or an RPM.

Yep, it's not the famous Doubled Die Obverse.

Note how Machine Doubling reduces the size of the devices? As mentioned already the 1969-S cents had a lot of Machine Doubling on them. The doubled die also have a lot of Machine Doubling on them: The yellow arrows are Machine Doubling. On the coins other areas is the doubled die. So because MD is present on a coin, doesn't mean it is a doubled die. Just MD. MD is flat looking from the machine damaging the devices.

It is definitely MD. NOT a DDO.
