Is the weight that of a single penny or two?
I remember doing the train track thing at Greenfield Village/Henry Ford Museum with the old steam train they run there during visits as a kid. Never thought to try putting two coins together though.

Crazyb0 - 'even a child can understand'. Totally uncalled for and out of line. For shame. You get no respect.

I'm with you, gidjit. We've seen so many of these that we sometimes forget they are new to our new members. Let's give those that made disparaging remarks a one time pass. After that, they go on double secret probation!

We all know how crazy Crazy is. He's just a cranky collector who means (almost) no harm. Stick around long enough and you will get used to him. He has done his share of helping people understand minting / after minting anomalies (me included.) Personally, I'd like to meet him and have a cold drink if I ever get out to the middle west. I may even get away in one piece!

Correct Me if I'm wrong but wouldn't a vise job leave an incused design on one side? Both appear to be on some relief.

It depends on what is used as a "buffer". Sometimes wood, sometimes plexiglass, sometimes just a softer metal than the coins.

When I was much younger the coins I put on the tracks would bounce off. Duct tape was the answer. This was not a train coin. Pennies came out like paper thin. Dimes not twice their size. Couldn't afford to waste quarters. Loonie didnt exist.

You should see what fish hooks look like after a train runs over them ... neat. Had to go over 4 sets of parallel tracks to get to our fishing hole on the Mississippi River .. lots of fun with things on the track. And throwing rocks to get through both sides of the open freight cars ..harder than it would seem when they are moving fast.

Maybe a double die clash of the reverses, or a vise job. Definitely PMD.
