Try doing a paper rubbing of it. Place a piece of thin paper over it and then do a back and forth rubbing with pencil lead.

If it were a curtain weight, shouldn't it have at least one hole through it?

You are correct spruett, the old lead curtain weights are holed , the new magnetic shower curtain weights are not.

My shower curtain weights in my shower curtain are non-holed and are magnetic.

I am certain it was a coin. It came from my grandmother's jewelry box. I have been able to pull up some images using a photo editing app inverting the images and blasting the contrast Anna also the lead run which was a brilliant suggestion. I posted here because I knew I would be surrounded by very smart people. I also ruined it with marker ink and used white electrical tape to pull an image that way. I can't make it out but it does seem like a man's face pointed left. There are letters, numbers, images.... I just can't decipher any of it  |
