mcshilling - There is no 1910-D!

Otherwise, I give.

Looks like a 1916-D. Taking a photo so the area after the "191" appears darker may help.

I know we all want it to be a 1914-D, but it is most likely a 1916-D.

Everyone will agree the first 3 numbers are 191. However, it's that last digit that could be a 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 and on and on and on. However, for sure it's not a 1.

It CAN NOT be a 1914-D with the mint mark in that spot.

Looks like a 14-S to me because the mm seems to be higher rather than wider. Especially, looks like an S in the 3rd pic.

My first thought is an altered date tossed in a tumbler to disguise their work. The shiny red copper and the way LIBERTY and the date are so mushed out does not seem natural to me.

I'm not sure about the date but it would fit right into a lowball collection.
