PMD = Post-Mint-Damaged
Preferred:
PSD = Post-Strike-Damaged

What is the difference? Coins can be damaged in the mint, so the term PMD is not considering this damage. Often thought of as after it was released when from the mint. But as I mentioned, they can be damaged before being released. So I prefer PSD: meaning the coin was damaged after the strike, but is just damaged no matter where it happened.

The wood graining looks to go in different direction on reverse, but may be pics.

I can see your point Tunnioc , it sure is very different alloy mix and both sides of the coin do not quite match!

IMHO it looks like a circulated 95 year old crackled shellac job? just by the way the sheen has worn off the high spots and what looks to be different surface heights on the fields?
I hope I'm wrong and that you will let us know if it really is an improper alloy mix when you have it in hand ! Either way its a nice strike and is a very cool looking coin

It did arrive today no time to take pics( going to work) but in my opinion it looks better in hand than the seller's photos, I haven't seen one like it yet!
I'll post my pics tomorrow!

I like the look of the obverse. It looks psychedelic. (No I never took drugs! I just remember the posters from the 1960's)

That is one gnarled Woody, Chase. I've seen them similar to this but not to that extent. Thanks for the updated photos.

If you look at the image to see 5 rows. Let your eyes see 6 rows (cross your eyes a bit) then it will pull you in. It will look very shiny.
