This is a picture of my Indian Head cents from collecting almost 50 yrs ago. All were from circulation. None are very pretty. The 1903 might go XF40. The rest are G at best.

I have 5 or 6 albums. They can become addicting.

Good luck TxGolfer56! Very cool. I've only just begun building my collection of Indian heads. Here's an example of the gaps in my first folder: The other pages of the folder have even fewer coins. I've been buying a few Liberty nickels I'm missing...

That's my favorite coin set also.
I have been looking for over 50+ Yrs and have weeded most of them to XF to BU except for the hard to find but they get pricy for my last 7 coins. Probably wont live that long but it would be nice. Good luck with the hunt

Good luck with the hunt! Not sure if this is the right place to ask but why are you using the push-in Whitman-type folder? A lot of my coins ended up with black rings around the edges. Does that only happen to silver coins?

Good luck!
BTW, I recommend you switch from a folder to an album - they are better quality and last longer.

The Whitman is from my youth. Definitely planning to change.

I put together an XF set several years ago. Not easy to get them all to match. When collecting XF Indians, try to find examples with a full ribbon. You will find many VF coins placed in XF slabs. XF Indians usually won't have full diamonds. This, in my opinion, is a nice example of an XF-40 coin. Enjoy the series!
