Nice circulated example. I'll go with F15 as a likely grade.

The Barber half dollar was certainly a workhorse of the economy and most collectors would agree that the majority of the surviving population exists at G4/G6 or lower.

An attempt to put together a complete VF/XF set would be very challenging indeed.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

Technical Grade 15. Eye Appeal 8/10. Love that circulation cameo.

Before internet shopping, I would venture you had to be a dealer or travel to a LOT of shows to put together an evenly matched set with original surfaces. Several of us happened upon Randy Holder's website documenting his journey, which ignited our passion. After work and in between playing hockey with the kids, it was my #1 hobby. Looking at the Pop reports now vs. 2003 blows my mind for VF-XF grades...but you still have to see the coin.

Randy's page still comes up at the top of a Google search, and I had forgotten his last name Old Tripod host!

regardless of the grade we or PCGS give it, this coin is one heck of a looker. i'd be proud to own it.

would you say it is a [5,5] coin? I would

Thank you! I guess there is always that 'better one out there' but I stopped with this one so must be a 5,5
