2000 D LMC Lamination Error?

I am going to go with planchet error. Seems like there would be some zinc showing if it were PMD. Looks like whatever happened was before the plating.

If the coin is out of round,it could not have fit in the coller as an out of round planchet.

Please provide an enlarged photo of the reverse, just as you did for the obverse. In the meantime, I must voice my strong suspicion that this is a case of post-strike damage. The normal weight and the smooth, flat surface opposite the roughened area on the obverse are fully consistent with this diagnosis.

Now it looks damaged. Especially that D in United. You can see exposed zinc. It also looks like everything is smushed down. I think damage now

From my short time here it's very obvious mr diamond is very well respected and his conclusions are definitive,I'm a little honored he looked at one of my coins I found
