21 S is a condition rarity. This one looks gem. Some disturbance in left obverse field and below 'OF' in reverse. Nice coin.

It looks AU-something to me. DETAILS label is TBD. There appears to be rubs on the buffalo's shoulder and hip. And it's a very weak strike even for a Buffalo nickel. |

Technical Grade 63. Eye Appeal 7/10. Eye Appeal would be higher if the strike was a bit better. But a beauty, regardless.

I see a 64. Many San Francisco strikes are weak and 21S is one of the most notorious.

OK, I know it hasn't been 48 hours, but I must tell you...
The holder says it's been "WHIZZED".
I don't see any scratches, although they can be very fine.
If I were them I'd break it out of its holder. WHIZZED sounds pretty darn ing.
The color is much lighter on some parts than others, ie the hindquarters.
Not sure if that's where it's been WHIZZED.

Whizzed coins are usually real easy to spot. This one may have been dipped but I see no signs of whizzing. Here is an example of a whizzed coin.   |

Yes, it's strange. It's graded something like "Whizzed, EF 40 features" and priced at about EF40 according to the price guide.

In hand turning the coin in light it may look totally different. That's the problem with looking at photos, too much gets missed.
