Just Got a message in from Mike Diamond: Quote:
Hi Coop.
A whole-coin image of the obverse would have helped. Based on what I've seen so far, it looks to have been struck through a very late-stage die cap.

Who is Mike Diamond, and how would I get ahold of him. Thank you again for walking me through this process. Hopefully, these will help. It's the best I can do with my phone...the camera sucks.

Bezo816, I know how to get a hold of Mike Diamond and I'll do it for you as a favor. I just sent him the link to this thread. We'll see what he thinks.

Oh yeah Coop, you did. I just message him again, telling him that Bezo816 now has full images of his coin, since Mike Diamond needed full images.

Now that I've seen the whole-coin image of the obverse and compared it with the close-up images, I'm no longer confident that this is a capped die strike. The surface texture seems to consist of numerous pinpoint digs and pockmarks, which are likely to have resulted from numerous impacts. I suspect this is post-strike damage. It's also possible that the damage occurred on top of a capped die strike, but that seems to be complicating things more than is required.

I agree with Mike Diamond, not sure that this is a capped die. It might be a Grease Filled Die? Not really sure.
