Welcome to the community, I, as you, are new to this site. I just found your topic. Haven't had time to read all 8 pages yet, but what I've read is interesting. I'm across the river in the Ft. Mitchell area of KY. If you have not already consulated a dealer, as to the value, try Coins PLUS. They have stores in Florence, Northgate and Downtown Cincinnati. One of the owners (Brad) I believe is a good person. He has helped me a couple times with coins that I had questions with. I hope this has helped. John

thanks John. I am currently inspecting and grading each coin (using the RedBook as guidance) if I have any questions I'll check your guy.

I got a call from the coin dealer and he said the 2 coins are both authentic. I'll post some pics tomorrow night.

All I can say is.. WOW. What an awesome collection, although I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. If I read your previous post right, the coins you're looking at now are just a portion of the overall collection that was initially split up? Wow, again.. Good luck - you seem to be on the right path (getting hooked! ) and as you can see, everyone here is more than willing to help. Looking forward to seeing more!

Hey Robo - Aside from authentication, did you get an opinion on a grade for the 93-S ?

I don't think so, but I will post pictures this afternoon on the grading forum and let everyone have a crack at grading them. If they are also graded I'll let everyone have a crack before I tell.

If they were sent in, they should have been slabbed for you unless they have been bodybagged for cleaning or something. Regardless of that, awesome news that they are authentic.

OK I got them back. They are slabbed and authenticated by ANACS (I know it's not the best, but when I took them in I didn't know what I was doing) The pictures are going up on the grading forum now.

ANACS was probably the best compromise, anyway - if they were cleaned, they would still come back slabbed (of course as long as they were authentic, and with that 'cleaned' notation). With PCGS or NGC, they send them back unslabbed if there is a problem like that with them. Good choice! Can't wait to drool.. err.. see the pictures
