WOW! Thank You Much! Is There A Possible Grade That Can Be Put On This Coin?

Very nice find! Great example of the big 1971 DDO.

I'm not that good at grading with images. It's either a high AU or a low MS.

Also it is doubled die, not double die.

Man that's a sweet find. The auction record for that on PCGS for a ms65 red is $10,000. Obviously nowhere near a 65 but still in pretty good shape for the year. No major catastrophes on either side. Again, nice find!

I would put it as a low to mid AU. Looks like it might be a later die state, there used to be a website identifying markers for the die states but I don't remember what it was.

Should I Send it to be Cleaned, Graded, Encapsulated, & Appraised? What would an Appraisal Price Range Be? I'm Starting To Get That Excited Feeling! LOL!

It's worth around $100. That's a guesstimate, don't hold me to that.

Never clean coins and there's no need for appraisals, it's not that valuable.

Grading is up to you, just keep in mind all grading companies charge extra for varieties. Also the two major companies, NGC and PCGS require an expensive membership to submit coins so those two companies would charge you more than what the coin is worth. ANACS might be the best option for you if you do decide to grade it.

There are a couple of Proof DDO that year that area a lot more valuable.
