MikeLucas1750: to the CCF !

I don't want to get your hopes too much but
it looks to be a business strike off fresh dies.

That would explain why it is rather attractive, but does not have an 's' mintmark.

I see some mint luster, which is typical of a coin intended for circulation.

The rim is different its actually squared off compared to the rounded rim on the regular examples I'm looking at thats why I said the pictures wont do it justice if you could only see it in person the way I'm seeing it I'm so confused because nothing points to it being just a normal business strike

This is what a 1993 proof quarter looks like, yours is not a proof...

he one I'm talking about is a 1973 not 1993. Do they look the same because I myself looked up the 1973 proof coins and I saw many examples that looked extremely similar to this one

Nope, it doesn't. Pretty easy to see.

Bobby is correct. Your question has been answered for you. It's not a proof. It's a normal Business Strike that's meant for circulation.

Not a proof, just a business strike. Worth face value.

Even if it was a proof coin, it has seen circulation. It would be considered an impaired proof and thus would not command any premium.

to the forum and keep looking

If it was truly without a mint mark it would.

I just wanted to say that regardless of what everyone has said I plan on taking the coin in somewhere to get looked at by a professional because not being disrespectful towards anyone but I spent literally multiple hours last night then for a little while today closely comparing my 1974 to multiple other not only proof coins of the same year but also compared it to multiple regular business strike coins and of the small details there are that are different in the two coins I saw nothing that makes me think that it can be anything but a proof coin and I also saw nothing that made me think it may just be an ordinary business strike now I could be wrong but I don't think I am but I will be sure to give you an update regardless of the outcome

What makes you think that this is a Proof coin? Again, it's not. We've already showed you what a proof looks like. Your question has been answered correctly and it's a normal Business Strike. There's absolutely no need to get it looked at by a professional, because he's going to tell you the same thing as we told you. Don't waste your money. End of story, period.

It's NOT a proof coin. It's a business strike. Bobby showed a comparison photo, and there's definitely a difference. Yours is a business strike, not a proof.
