TBR, JC Stevens has commented and said it was a new listing for cuds-on-coins.com. I think you should take that opportunity and send these pictures in, so he can list it.

I'd be glad to have it listed and just tried to send and email to JC, but it said I couldn't yet, I think as a new member.
Where do I send, and what is needed.
Thanks all.
I'm delighted to have found something after going bug-eyed checking through a ton of pennies my dad had in a can before he passed away.
TBR.

Nice find. I was hoping it would have been a WAM.

Ok class: Why doesn't this interior die break fall off the coin? (Think on this one a bit)

Quote: Ok class: Why doesn't this interior die break fall off the coin? I "think" it's because it was created by two separate stressing events..? The chips & breaks formed from eventually falling out are created by an individual crack that splinters then comes back together, leaving an RIDB or RIDC that's already under direct pressure / incident within a singular event.. The one pictured has no such central pressure allowing for job completion.. Swamp

Ok, I'm going to take a stab at Coop's question but only after reading up on the subject: If this occurs in the process of striking blank planchets, at high speed, and a flake or die piece breaks off from the surface of the die, depending on where the broke piece comes from and comes to a rest, with the motion of the minting press, it is captured within or near the cavity that was created and subsequent strikes press it back into to die steel.
