Because they are silver,90% and 40% that ty88ty2 got for face value. If any are errors or varieties they are worth even more than face or silver value.Nice score.

The 1964 dated halves are 90% silver composition, like all USA dimes, quarters and halves minted in 1964 or prior.

The three 1967 dated halves are 40% silver composition.

As correctly stated above - a nice score indeed for face value at the bank.

Haha, Thanks everyone!

Yes, Amy, these are significant because they are made of silver as stated above. All half dollars, quarters, and dimes 1964 and older are made of 90% silver. All half dollars from 1965-1970 are 40% silver!

Meow tried to find some in Las Vegas slot machines years ago. Never found a 90%er, but found some 40%ers. It Was a very scarce find. Maybe one 40%er in 2000 coins. So Meow was more interested in that instead of the game itself. Ohooooo, and getting Silver strikes was always fun.

Very nice score and congratulations! Finding 90% Silver in circulation is getting harder and harder as the time goes by.
Errers and Varietys.
