Nice find! I think it is a rim to rim die crack.

Thank you Dorado and Jim! The only way to know for sure is for me to put it under my new USB microscope, which is still in shipment right now.

Better pics for sure! You can see it where it starts on top of the rim. There is a small Cud on top of the rim. After seeing the new pics I believe it is a Retained Cud. Great eye to see that one David!

Thank you Jim! I received my new USB microscope from Walmart online. I was also having software issues, do to the very recent Google Chrome update, that messed up the compatibility of my USB microscope on my default camera app on the Chromebook. (They updated the camera app, and it messed the compatibility of my USB microscope up, so I bought a brand new Windows 10 laptop for 379.00 at Walmart. It's has been problem free so far.) I can see why this one get missed. It's pretty small to the naked eye actually. Luckily, I saw the Die Crack, and after I put it under my 10x loupe, it turned out to be a Retained Cud.

You might try not using Chrome on another computer to make sure that is the issue. (It maybe, but I like to confirm issues)

Nope, it's not Chrome. It's the Chromebook itself. Google did a recent update, including an update to their default camera app, which has completely ruined the compatibility of my Plugable USB microscope. Bedore the update, the compatibility was fine.

I don't have internet explorer. A Chromebook is a computer that operates off of a Google OS. Here's more information about a Chromebook, if you're curious. https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/...uying-adviceIt's different from other Operating Systems. It's fairly new. I think it's only been around since 2012.

Quote: But you would need a good marker match to prove it was from the same die. Or find some intermediate die stages.

Sorry for going off track. Back to the coin.

I think that it's in the middle between a die crack and Retained Cud. I could call it either way. I don't see any major shift of the die, but it could be freshly broken off. Nice and neat find!

Thank you Conder101, SilverDollar2017, and CoinCollector2000! SilverDollar2017, I agree with you on that. I only use it for internet surfing now. I now have a Windows 10 laptop, and it works great with no problems. I use my new computer now to take pictures and upload my finds on CCF. I'll send pictures to JC Stevens, so he can evaluate my find.

The ones they hand out in school are a bit underwhelming, but the better models are beefier. Also, the latest Chrome OS will run both Android and Linux apps. My next laptop will be a Chromebook, for sure. Quote: Sorry for going off track. Back to the coin. Same here.
