This one also came in today, but it looks nothing like the pictures in the listing. Reached out to seller. We'll see what happens.

It doesn't even look like a legit Barber. Look at how the numerals in the date are misaligned.

So, the first set of pics are the coin in a listing and the second set are the coin you received?
If so, something "fishy" is going on. Have you weighed it? Or measured the thickness?

Looks like a possible counterfeit in the in hand pics. I'd contact the seller asap.

The width of a dime is 17.9mm not 18.91 as per the description. Figure it was just a mistake. Diameter is 17.9mm. I don't have a scale sensitive enough to measure the 2.5 gram weight of a dime or a caliper that will measure the 1.35mm width of the dime. A few more pics:

Contacted seller and told him that it wasn't the coin pictured in the listing and that it was nicer. I offered to return it if he provided a postpaid label and he told me to keep it. I paid $3.48 for it so I don't think it made sense for him to process a return. I think it looks AU if it is real. the 1911 Barber dime is one of the most common dates with almost 19 million coins minted. I wonder why a counterfeiter would bother to fake this coin. I really like this coin. Don't know how I would authenticate it cheaply.

Pretty good deal for less than $4. Looks genuine to me, probably low AU.

If your happy with the coin ,that's fine but the word LIBERTY on either coin just doesn't sit right with me .

The second coin is just fine and a steal at that price, congrats.

The $20 scales you see at various types of stores will work most of the time. However, you can get an old school scale for reloading on ebay. You just need to convert grains to grams. You can probably get a modern reloading scale that will be much better with such light weights. 15.43 grains in 1 gram So ... a unworn silver dime should weigh 38.58 grains...
