Quote: It's only labeled as minor variety doubled die, not any specific one. Since it does state that it is any specific doubled die, they're not wrong in labelling it that. Ummmmmm..........yes it is.

Yeah, I just noticed the same thing. The same three coins are listed as minor varieties and then again specifically as 1935-P DDO-001's.

The question I have though, is this really a $4250 coin?

I'm not positive your coin is the DDO. The E of WE should show definite doubling and the date doubling is different. A pic of Trust would tell the tale. Here is a couple pics of mine

I did a side by side of the 5 in the date of my coin and the OP's. The thickness of the top horizontals of the 5's shows hub doubling on the ddo-001 on the left and MD'ing of the OP's coin on the right. Beautiful coin but not the doubled die.

Yeah, I figured as much. Wow! @Stoneman227, you need to let the various attribution guides use your images for the 1935-P 1¢ FS-101 because you really captured the characteristics of a true doubled die with perfect light balance. Most of the guides pics portray a more shelf like MD appearance on the date. Thanks everybody! This thread just goes on to reiterate the old adage.....buy the coin, not the slab.

They don't care, they don't guarantee the attributions are correct anyway.

Here is anothe example The 1957-D reengraved tail feathers quarter is a nice variety and the ms64 graded example they show is just a normal coin where the au coin they have is an actual example of the variety http://www.PCGScoinfacts.com/coin/detail/511574And thanks so much for the compliment on my pics !

Yeah Stoneman227, that's a $21 coin in a $2,000 slab. Sadly, it will most likely end up in the collection of an ignorant newb..... Y'all think any of these misattributed variety coins are being allowed to stand in Registry Sets without being challenged?
