to CCF. Around $270 in MS62. Do you know what VAM it is? Maybe that would add more value to it? As a general rule, a coin needs to have a retail value of at least $150 to justify the costs involved to get it TPGed.

I'd sent it as part of a submission whenever the next time you are going to submit it. I wouldn't do an individual submission for it though

It's actually a decent strike for '91-O which is typically found with a pancake strike. I think it easily reaches MS63 as well and as basebal21 noted would be a worthy coin to submit in a group submission.

And it's a VAM-13

Decent coin, love the radial die cracks! Nice VAM13. I don't like all the chatter on the cheek/fields but still a nice coin. I'd say 61/62. I'd put it in an airtite and put it in my collection. Maybe submit with a group of coins but not alone.

First,

The '91-O is a bit of a tough date to find with eye appeal. Your coin definitely has eye appeal! I like the pop of the cartwheel obverse and the gentle toning on the reverse. I agree with this as a solid 62.

On the TPG, my question is what do you want to do with the coin? If you intend to keep it for your collection, my advice would be not to slab it. On the other hand, if you intend to sell it, I agree with sending it in as part of a group of coins. Having it slabbed would make it easier to sell, even if you wouldn't see a full return on the cost of slabbing it. Even though your coin obviously is genuine, buyers are getting more and more skittish of raw coins because of the Chinese garbage infiltrating every corner of the market. Having it slabbed would make sight unseen sale much easier.

Thanks for sharing pics of your coin!

Very nice looking coin, I'd agree with 63 for a technical grade but I would be concerned about it coming back as questionable color due to the colors and pattern of toning on the reverse.

No clue on whether or not you should send it in, but I do dig the toning. (:

Its cool that I was in the ballpark with the grading of this coin, and all of your comments are very helpful and interesting, I think I will have it graded and assign a vam13 because I love the vams, but I will wait until I have enough coins for a bulk submission.
Thank you all very much! jny

ANACS is the best and possibly the only TPG that will attribute a non list(top100, hot50 etc.) VAM such as this with the exception of SEGS and possibly ICG. I'm pretty sure PCGS and NGC will not attribute this one.
The other option if using PCGS or NGC is using VSS for the attribution after grading (VAMseal option).http://www.varslab.com/

Dave nailed it on the strike. this is very typical for a 91-O so your coin is AVG when it comes to strike. IMO it should make MS63. the amount of remaining luster helps it case. the reverse toning is fine and natural

ICG does them all too, NGC is the most restrictive and PCGS falls in the middle.

If it was me I'd have them graded by PCGS and then send them to Messy at Varslab if I wanted some more obscure Vams on them. I think that combo ends up giving you the best of both worlds
