Congrats levelsofmadness Reading this thread, it seems there is some confusion. Allow me to clarify for the record. 1982 Zinc cents are not rare and are worth 1 cent. 1982 copper cents are also not rare and are worth copper melt (technically but practically, will trade for 1 cent) This is a variety. It is a doubled die reverse. That is what gives it value. Sorry to burst the bubble of those who were counting their fortunes...

@BigSilver thank you for the unclear clarification! What is the error to look for, or maybe a link to view the error? I'm new to this and not sure where to find this info. No bubble bursting going on here, I count my fortunes in many other ways!

Congrats! But, what the heck is the green monster you're referring to? Season tickets the the Red Sox?

hahah.. Landsdown street (the street behind the green monster) I spent many a night stumbling to the car.
No; a green monster box of Silver American Eagles. Prices for a box of 500 SAE use to be under 9k but with prices inching up, a box of 500 is probably 12k for that green monster box of SAE.

I think this may be the best find CRH (next to a couple of other rare doubled dies) I've seen on this forum. Big congrats!

Big congratulations LOM. Excellent find my friend. This thread and find find explains your strong awareness of this variety in the recent post on CCF by another member. I don't have near the depth of experience or knowledge as the attributors for CC, so maybe it is the convex shape of the die face creating a weakness of TED STATES near the rim. But it sure looks like a Ridge Ring through UNITED which seems to indicate an older die and possibly more for the rest of us to find. A feller can hope. Either way it is an awesome DDR with awesome doubling. Congrats again.

Thanks everyone much appreciated. Thanks Coop will throw that in the knowledge folder. Now for the confession... I didn't know this variety existed. I only found this because when I first stated CRH cents, I didn't know what years had DD so I would look at all the cents obverse and reverse. Recently I have been getting lazy and not look at both sides of the coin because there wasn't a DD listing for certain years. I need to go back to my early method of CRH and check both sides no matter what year it is because YOU NEVER KNOW.
