It must be the stage B without the die crack on the reverse.

Nice find and extremely helpful series of images Coop. Thank you!
Let's us see the Die Deterioration as it progresses in an older die. Took me years and years to realize this info you so accurately portray.

I was thinking that one Coinman just sold a few minutes ago on ebay was pretty darn early die stage. Went below book at $112 but not cheap either.

I am even more intrigued by this cent. The stage B on VV mentions nothing about doubling on the bottom of the suit jacket. May send this one on to Dr. Wiles.

Sometimes while attributing, some areas of the coin get over looked. Especially areas that are not known for hub doubling. We often just look on the devices and the bust common doubling areas. So this may have been present on all examples, just overlooked?

Wow! The bottom of the suit jacket is actually hub doubled! Very cool! I can see why they missed that area.

Pretty sure I've seen that doubling on most of these when looking for it. Even at stage C it's readily apparent.

Just for the sake of knowing for sure I sent pics to Dr. James Wiles. He said that he thinks it could be Stage A which if it is it'll be the first and wants me to send it to him for attribution confirming it.
