@emjbo22, first welcome to CCF. Second, for sure they can be exchanged at face value, but I'm assuming that you are wondering if there is a premium above this. Even the most damaged 1900 or 1901 Cent is probably worth more than face value. Can you please post a picture or two of your coins so that we can give you a more precise answer? Thx.

Looks like you are still having a little trouble with the uploading process. Here is a link to the tutorial:

Can you look at the topic "trying to upload images"? It's listed as 1901 but this is one of the 1900 pennies

Ok yes. I have taken the liberty of enlarging and enhancing your pics from that duplicate thread (which will be locked by one of the mods I suspect). We can look at your coin here.

I have a couple thoughts. This coin is pretty worn, with LIBERTY completely worn down. This places it somewhere in the grade range of G-4. I think that it would cost you a couple bucks to purchase from your local coin shop. one caution--you need to flatten the staples on the back side of the 2x2 to prevent them from accidentally rubbing up against and scratching an adjacent coin. This can be accomplished with pliers if you are careful.

Severe environmental damage here - worth very little. I'm afraid.

Spend some time getting to know CCF, both posting your coins to get other's opinions and other's posts to see what is said about them. If you are interested in grading coins, hang out in that forum within CCF. If you are interested in mint errors, hang out there.

Also, check back to this thread a few more times over the next days as others will weigh in with their thoughts as well.

To get a rough value, you can first estimate the condition:

And then look up the value:

With various caveats like "it's only worth what someone is willing to pay", and "it's gotta be authentic, not a counterfeit", that kind of thing.

I most certainly did not buy lol!! I told my dad I had gotten interested in coins. He then handed me 3 very large binders full of coins my grandfather collected.
