What professional grading company would be dumb enough to write woody on the label ?

I was wondering who was going to make the joke, the setup was there.

The stuff has been painted on and you can see that the person did a poor job of it. There's two different colors used.

I don't see a problem with woody on the label, after all there is the "Booby Head" Large Cent.

I've heard that TPG'ers (not sure with one or ones) will put your name on the slab if you request it and pay for it.

6-7 weeks after the original posting and "sending it in." Where are we at with this coin? Was it indeed sent to a TPGer? What is generally the turn around time on grading? I have my own opinion on this coin, but will wait to see what the official ruling is on it.

I do not think it's genuine woody. Too extreme.

I'll go on the record: It's absolutely genuine!

What's the status Tldemars333? Which TPG'er did you submit it to?

Also, where did you say you acquired this coin?

Certainly a very neat coin. I also would like to see the current status.

I emailed James Wiles with variety vista. He said it seems to be an "improperly mixed alloy"! I havent sent for grading yet but I will be soon. Work has had me overloaded.

That is a really cool looking coin. Looks like camouflage.
