XF 40 line looks like toning.

Thanks for the pic, but doesn't help. It's distracting to me, whatever the cause.

Thank you all for your replies. In regards to the toning line, is this something that detracts from the coin in such a way that it would affect value?

Overall I think the coin has above average eye appeal and originality but can see why some would be distracted. Perhaps a small hit on value but a much larger + for originality of the surfaces.

I think the line takes away from the coin's eye appeal, but it is still a very attractive piece with original surfaces. As for the grade, I'll say XF-45. Congrats on such a nice coin!

Great looking coin even with that "line". Doesn't look like damage or a die break. Not sure what it is judging from these photos. AU-53

Thank you all. Line or no line I am excited to have this specimen. Here is the grade given by PCGS, you all were dead on or not far off at all.

According to the old holder...there may be room for an upgrade on grade. Resubmitting it to PCGS may come come back 50-53

Thank you. Didn't know you could resubmit, always thought you had to saw the coin out to do that. I will check into that. Thanks for the suggestion. Appreciate everyone. Been having bad luck with coins recently as some of you know.

You can leave it in the holder if you send it back to PCGS.
