I know I'm the new Crayon in the box here, but that is definitely NOT mechanical!

Definitely Machine Doubling. I saved one for reference. My copy is a 1957-D as well with dies chips in the 'B' in liberty and the '9' on the date.

I'm getting a little tired of the sarcasm from a "few" and I'm asking nicely please stop! I'm new to coin collecting, and everyone here knows that and all I'm asking for is a little respect! I'm learning like a lot of you and I
thought this was a gentleman and gentle ladies place to gain knowledge not a place to discourage us novice coin collectors! I understand I can be stubborn about my finds but please be patient with me....I served my country for 22 years and am very hardened and I have very thick skin but not to sarcasm, I get enough of that from my other half! I'm sure those of you who didn't like what I said; you are the few who probably took this personally but its probably the truth, and as they say; "the truth hurts!" To all you who have given me great advise, passed on your knowledge with depictions of what I'm submitting, who are patient when I persist, I salute you! Thank you in advance for hearing me out! ADMIN- If this is not the place for this I give You permission to move it where ever you want, and if you want to delete it because it's not nice to tell the truth, at least give it a few hours so everyone can read it, thank you in advance! God bless you all, And god bless America!
Sarge, OUT

Double check your mint mark location to the date, I know VV lists several DDO with a die chip on the "9" and 'B" in liberty. I think they are 005, 013, 001 and maybe 012....good luck
Edited: Also remember that die chips in those areas were Very common for 50s era cents, but they make for easy die markers when looking for DDOs...Also remember a DDOs can also show signs of Machine Doubling...
