the best I can do for now. It is not magnetic. I Have to get a scale. Your opinions are great help. I tried looking up the process of plating and how thick but no luck. I am hoping it was stamped over a early coin. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a coated coin (Glue/nail polish/varnish/something else) with damage to that area with a tube hammered into the substance. Not a plus for this coin.

Plated cents started in 1982. I think it is still some kind of glue.

I found some pennies with circles,they are calling it die errors. error ref.com goes into it more. I also found another ring on the G in god. The planchet or coin this is on still confuses me.

It's some kind of environmental damage. Glue or another substance coated the coin. Keep hunting!

With John1. It looks like some kind of goo on it and ran down to rim. Where the arrows are pointing. Can you see if it can be peeled away?
