What do people think? Not a great picture. I figure I just paid for regular 8 anyway.

I only see 1 1978 and in that roll it is hard to tell.

Yes, only one 1978. I agree it is hard to tell. I have a hard enough time with proper pictures.

Smallcent - just to respond to your 1978 roll searching, I went through a new roll a few weeks ago and all coins were the Low 8s. The best thing I found was this very strong Doubled Back Queen. It was the only thing that made it in a 2x2 holder and at best is a MS64.

I think I will refer to roll hunting as Russian Rollette from now on! Sometimes that is how it feels........

I found a roll of 1978 pennies in my collection. Both ends of the roll are showing the reverse. I didn't want to crack open the roll just yet, but I decided to post a couple of pictures. My apologies in advance for all the debris/fibres on the coins. They appear to both be high eights, but some expert opinions would be appreciated.

I think you have it!

That is a roll that you want to be very careful with. Run of the mill MS coins are worth maybe $10 each. I suspect it sells for something like $500 if you put it in an auction. You might get $1000.

The only kicker is that looks like an aftermarket roll (from a bank or Brinks). So while there are probably all the same coins inside, they may be a mixture of 8s.

Your end coins look pretty nice but the aftermarket rolls do not often produce MS66 level coins.

Thank you for the advice. I think I will put it in a plastic tube.

I think I found another high 8. This one was in a plastic tube of 1978 pennies that was in my collection. I might have to get this one graded.

No point in grading. Looks like a typical $10 MS60 to 62 coin. Worth less than the grading fee.

I have a lot of trouble with this variety but I think that this is low. The end coin has some doubling at the top which makes it look higher.
