Also got me thinking about the 2014-2018 ANZAC dollar coins. Correct me if wrong, but I don't recall the RAM blowing trumpets every year the 2015-2018 coins hit circulation. If so, why should they have a big announcement for the 2021 Donation dollar?

Those coins (Or should I say the Advertising Campaign) weren't globally-recognised award winners like the donation dollar. https://www.shootonline.com/news/sa...ising-awardsApparently the green colouring on that coin wasn't a bad paint-job but designed to wear down the more the coin is donated, reveals golden ripples from the coin's center--a symbol of the ongoing impact the coin is making in the lives of those in need. Yeah, but the design hasn't changed, just the date. Gotta hand it to them - indicating that poor/cheap paint is a deliberate design is golden!

Quote:Do you really think ebay wouldn't be flooded with 2021 donation dollars Here's a couple of "2021" donation dollars for sale on ebay. This one doesn't have a picture of the obverse (where the date would be) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/224855357998This one does have a picture of the obverse (surprise, surprise it says 2020) https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/115295549921

Hmm I guess that would include the two types of mint errors that I seen with this coin as well? both quite rare (large weak strike/mistrike) and Bullseye on the queen's face >.<

Found this in the 2020/21 RAM annual report Quote: Of those who came across a Donation Dollar, 53 per cent had given their Donation Dollar to a charity and 32 per cent intended to give it to a charity. As I have said before, how can anyone believe anything they read in a RAM annual report.

Intended, but have not done so yet? Intended, but changed their mind? Intended, but decided that the charity in need was their self?

Does anyone know if the Donation dollars were issued after 2021? I haven't seen or heard of anything. I thought the original idea was to release enough for one for each person in Australia over five years. Is that correct? Maybe the whole lot were released over two years only?

Can't see anything on Google image search - the only "2022 donation dollars" on show were mislabelled 2020 or 2021 coins.
I think COVID dramatically slashed expected demand for coinage; some mass-distributed special coins like the donation dollar may have been postponed or cancelled outright, while others had mintages much smaller than originally intended.

The RAM won the awards they were looking for so changed their original 25 million donation dollars over 5 years to 25 million over 2 years (2020/2021). People are still trying to flog them for $1000 each on ebay.
