It does appear to be messed with and is likely an AU+ coin that's been worked on in hopes of selling it as MS. I could be wrong, and often am, but that's what I see from here.

Variety aside, I would grade it mid-AU details (cleaned).

I haven't heard of that one either, but what surprises me is that the "DONT clean coins" campaign has been around forever, and unless you trying to rip off new collectors, there is no point in doing it, as the TPG will catch it.
Rest in Peace

I'm not understanding reverse denticles , obverse rim from 1-5:00 and the 2 in date looks weird . Coin also looks cleaned .

If it stays cheap enough, I'll have a look.

6 days to go and at $132.50, I won't be taking a look lol, if this coin is ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise, someone else will find out about it.

Here we have one very nice 1862 Indian Head cent. This coin has been polished. The coin is in raw uncertified condition and is a very nice coin. Please look at the scan and grade the coin for yourself as this is the actual coin you will receive.

I know this is Labor Day weekend, but IMHO hot dogs with ketchup or mayo taste much better than IHCs with ketchup or mayo.

A ketchup and mayo mix should only be used to clean Russian coins....
