I have the majority of my collection in albums. Then 2x2s in lifehouse albums, then 2x2s in a cardboard box.

I really use almost all of those. However the majority of valuable coins go into Albums. Yet the majority of my coins are not valuable so they tend to go into plastic rolls.

Most ordinary coins are in flips, organized by year,
Most better coins are in slabs, many in SDB.
Junk silver and trashy coins are in tubes.

Albums all the way, then 2x2s in an album for doubles and foreign. Just can't beat the eye appeal of a full Dansco if you ask me

#1. 1941 and earlier coins are all graded slabs, 1942-1958 are in capital plastic two or three row mint set holders, 1959-2020 are in airtite holders, and 1955-2020 proof sets and 1959-2020 mint sets are in the original government packaging. I actually have no 2x2 or albums.

#1. In a safe deposit box. A lot of my gold coins are mint products. I take the capsules out of the presentation box (those empty boxes are saved at home for the day I want to sell) and place in the safe deposit box to save space. I have Mexican 50 peso gold coins and American Gold Eagles that I have bought Air-Tide capsules for, and those are stored in the safe deposit box as well. Have about a dozen slabbed Morgans. Same deal with safe deposit box. The safe deposit box allows me to travel without worrying.

I only collect Canadian circulation coins and some proof like coins. Only one per year and some varieties ie colour mint mark etc etc. My coins go into individual 2x2, they're labeled, placed into my binder and the binder goes into its protective sleeve.

Mainly 2x2s and 1.5x1.5s for everything quarter sized and smaller.
But I am seriously considering the treasure chest approach to storage.

My "main collection" of world coins is in 2x2s. Most of my ancients are in mylar flips. But the OP asked about the "majority" of my coins, which would be my date-mintamrk sets of American, Australian, British, New Zealand, French, German, Canadian etc., which make up the bulk of the 13,521 coins in my collection and which are housed in plastic coin albums. So I had to vote "album".

My 2 by 2s and slabs are in "zippered binders" that allow me to zip up the three side for secure storage.
