1966 20c Wavy 20c Coin
Here's my interpretation

Most of these coins were pulled from circulation in the 1970's+1980's
There was not much else to look for in circulation coins back then

Since then the odds one has come to surface is very very rare

I have found 1 of these in very poor state since 2000....and I have noodled a vast amount of 20c coins...that's over 20 years by the way

Just being a realist - these are very rare to find in circulation - hard to gauge exactly as to how many of these were minted as there is no mintage figures on the variation but they as hard to find

If you do find one I recommend put it aside as I feel they have not reached their potential as yet

That's my 2 bobs worth

Good luck for anyone looking for this coin because if you find one it is worth the look

Cheers to all

The Kiwis keep ending up with you, as they can't come home. The smaller golden ones keep them away and they put a big scary Maori carving on the 20 cent piece to stop them coming.

Looking at your finds, they are start to getting pretty tired looking those Kiwis.

Still wishing you luck to find a Wavy!

I've finally got some time to update my noodling. At least a decent number of '66 coins this time round. Princetane - yes, the Kiwi's are sheltering in Oz from their golden brothers and are having a hard time. MrCruise - I suspect much of what you say rings true. I don't intend to sell one if I find it (unless I find 2). I was lucky enough to noodle a 2000 mule a while back. I still keep my eye out for another that I can use as a trade.

Total 20c coins noodled = 23560
Total no. of 1966 coins = 303

Number of wavy coins = 0

Another 480 coins. The NT Federation coin was in really nice condition. Another kiwi and PT - I don't like to keep Kiwis in captivity so I do release them back into the wild (even though they are an introduced species)

Total 20c coins noodled = 24040
Total no. of 1966 coins = 311

Number of wavy coins = 0

Another 480 coins but only 1 '66 coin this time. Not good at all. I did however find a nest of illegal immigrants but I didn't have the heart to deport them back to NZ. Well, that's me done for a while until the next lot...

Total no. of 1966 coins = 326

Not sure I like seeing the toothpicks on a coin like that.
