This one looks un-plated. Nice find. Keep it in a 2X2, then tape the edges to keep oxygen away from the zinc.

It is a silver color all around the coin even the edge. There aren't any areas that indicate heat that I can see. What would plated mean like someone platted penny with a different metal?

Some people like to experiment coating silver and other types of alloys on to coins, like those shopping network selling plated gold and platinum quarters.

Yours looks sharp, so could be a real deal, anyway to show better larger pictures?

Rotate and Crop it before uploading, helps saves many neck pain.

Closer-in, sharp, high resolution photos showing each coin would sure help.

I'd like to say plated but closer-in photos will help decide the matter.

I say plated as well. Very easy to do, high school chemistry classes do this as an experiment routinely. Ultra shiny surface screams plated, in my opinion.

Note the fields. This coin was not plated with copper. It is a naked zinc cent. (A keeper) Note how smooth the fields are:

The easiest way to tell if it was plated is what coop said. Also, it should have cartwheel luster. Even with the weak pictures I believe this is a genuine error, struck on unplated planchet. Great find!

No "real deal" here. We see so many of these that are plated they are becoming very common in circulation.
