Nice! I'm not crazy about the 2021 counter strike but he has to fight off the people that cry foul for not including "copy" on fantasy dates and in this case date style.
I have the 1917 broken sword and I have to say if the mint issued Peace dollars were as well (deep) designed and struck like the DC issues I would have many more in my collection...

Isn't it against the law to "mutilate" a legal tender US coin? If this isn't mutilation, I don't know what is. I don't really care, but ruining a Peace dollar with this ugly thing, jeez.

Me either. They could have done a better job with the font and placement, or "100th Aniversary" or "1921 - 2021"

That usually translates as: "I want one too". But it IS interesting to have in hand the scupturer's original concept of the coin using THE original hub. Also interesting that ANACS is willing to certify them.

I'm not seeing the "D" mint mark Mr. Carr normally puts on his coins.

I agree, 1921 - 2021 would have been much better than the roman numerals and counter stamp.

Agree, the "1921" just ruins this.

And agree, ANACS only underscores it's second-tier reputation by grading this junk.

On the other hand there is a lot of "junk" on this forum which no one refers to as junk, counterstamps and all, ever. If no one else is producing copies from the original artists intent and the orginal hub from 1921 (before bureaucrats made last minute changes to the coin dies), then it makes it more difficult to understand this resentment. It's nothing less than a numismatic work of art rendered in the exact size and composition intended the same as any token or medal or similar device.

The key word is "fraudulently"

Absolutely! Each of us defines how we enjoy this hobby. Its ridiculous for someone to try to dictate to someone else how to have fun.

Yeah...I was not too popular in my high school class of over 600 b/c I refused to even acknowledge the peer pressure almost everyone else gave into (fads/mindsets/habits etc.)

As mentioned, the 1917 Peace dollar gives an idea in hand of what Peace dollars were supposed to look like in design, and they are made to look so much better b/c they are high def. details. The design is a lot prettier to me with his in hand (I don't have a legit 1921 to compare).

When I was a kid I dreamed I had found a 1975 Ike dollar that was not a bicentennial, just a 1975 dated Ike. I also dreamed I had found a 1975 half dollar as well. The dream did not go away for a long time.

Daniel Carr made overstrikes of a 1975 (normal) the Ike and 1975 Half. It literally was like I had a dream come to reality when I held mine in hand. It was kind of a weird feeling of excitement/fun. I know these coins are not "real," but when in hand they are exactly what a mint-made one would be like.

I put the halves into my Kennedy lineup b/c I like to see if someone I show the set to notices. The reaction can be very funny.
How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash?

Interesting with the roman numeral date but I think I like their 1964 Peace better. They do make some interesting fantasy pieces and yes well struck details indeed.
