Looks like a rough Struck Through Grease and grit if I'm reading this image correctly. If it were die scratches it would all be raised, none incuse. If it were something on the die with grit, the area would be raised and incuse. I don't think it is Feeder Finger Damage. at all of it would be raised above the fields.

my guess, there's a clash on the mouth and nose area still left there on the reverse, and those are abrasions most likely from removing clash in that area, something like that. Also might of run through his arm/sleeve too looks like some abrasions there also. there's many like that around on the internet, here's one on ebay, I hate the description but very similar to yours. it's not the same though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1544929719...264870804704then again maybe it is the same and just a later version as the abrasions start getting struck out of the die face. I dunno. I'm thinking the spot in front of his mount and nose is the lip/nose transition from the obverse. it's out of my skill set but I'm sure someone knows how to do overlays. I'd think where the abrasions are might be the eye area which would have transferred strongly in a clash and need to be removed. Should be raised if abrasions, but might be a photo illusion in what I'm seeing in these pictures. I'm not a professional, the area in front of his face looks like a clash to me, the rest, I don't know. just guessing.

Hi All. Thank you for your help. I am posting the best close ups I can get. Sorry if they are not great but I tried my best. I do not think it is the same as the ebay coin in the right light it looks similar but the close up not so much.

This is a field-restricted struck-through error. A gritty paste was deposited on the field portion of the die by the feeder/ejector.

kind of like this one I found years ago: At first I thought it was Feeder Finger Damage, but noticed it was incuse on the coin and not raised on the fields. It was determined to be what Mike pointed on his comment.

Thanks coop. I really like your example, several different places, seems unusual. I am thinking of selling one of these Quarters. I never sold a coin (or anything online) but would like to experiment, not sure if worth my time....is this a good/valuable find?

While they are unique, they are more of an educational piece. They are less common than than a Grease Fill, but this type of grease on the fields transfers quickly and soon gone. They are seldom seen. The problem is they are mostly unknown. So I they might be a hard sell. I found two of this one roll. No one asked about it. Since 2009,
