Quote: The draped bust dime was an obscenely difficult coin to find with a full scroll at the budget and grades I was looking at. I fully understand that! I'm still missing both the small and heraldic eagle draped bust dimes in my type set, and have had the same issues in years of searching for just the "right" F-VF example of each.

really nice example grape. I think she easily makes F15 i have one but its only FR details due to the obverse scratch but I still love it

Nice coin, looks original. I'd estimate F-12.

My immediate thought when I saw the photos was F-15, so that is my guess.

I don't see why this is a steal at $1,000+. I paid less than $900 for a similar but higher graded coin.

Here it is! As for why I thought it was a steal, anyone who has tried to fine a draped bust dime from F-VF with a full scroll knows how impossibly hard it is. Full scroll dimes are extremely tough, even XF, AU, and even MS coins don't always have them due to striking issues. So when I found one within the grade range, with nice original surfaces, and for F-15 price, I was all over that. I've only seen one I would call equal in the last few years, and that one was an F-15 with full scroll that sold for $2200, also an 1805 4 Berries. Photo belongs to NGC

A very nice acquisition, and as you said, very tough to find with the full scroll.
