"Concept" coins are 95% of the time just a gimmick. ANACS and ICG both sold out years ago and will put just about anything in a slab if you pay them enough.

Chopper Coin sells crap like this, Notice on the back it says Minted in 2018? How can a "Concept" coin be made 140 years after the original? Just a gimmick.

Yes, PCGS and NGC are much better. They don't put Gallery Mint "errors" in slabs.

No, they are worse. They put dead insects into slabs.

Oh please. Send in a dead insect to be slabbed. I'll wait.

That's funny, but no one sent that cricket in to be slabbed.

I know all about it. They did it as a joke when they caught it in the building and gave it to Fred Weinberg.

I stand by my statement. Send PCGS an insect and get it slabbed, I'll wait.

And yes, it's funny. Guaranty it got tons of laughs.

Can you explain this? I fail to see how this is in any way "disgusting"

30 years ago some PCGS employees decided to put a cricket in a slab, they didn't do it for profit, they didn't do it for PR, they did it for a laugh. THIS is what we're getting outraged at?

"Disgusting" as in "unsavory".

I found one at an estate sale. Don't have a lot of information on them. However, it is a great looking coin.
