Looks like a typo error, most likely $26K or perhaps the seller is just showing off a coin that's in his personal collection that he has "no" intention on selling. This is why the 1/4 million$ dollar price tag. Glenn

Hey Chad....did you have an opportunity to ask Colonial Acres about this coin, and whether we are looking at a typo? Trends has got a MS63 listed @ $6000. No trend info for any higher grade is listed what so ever. Charlton has got a MS64 listed @ 10,000, with no higher grade listed.

Its a 5 cents 1926 (far 6) MS65, according to the small certificate. According to KM catalog mintage is 938,162 for both far and near 6 for 1926. 2009 Catalog price for MS63 is $4,300.
Maybe he's the only one who has a MS65?

Typo...that figures. Maybe they're just using ebay as publicity and expect a real sale at Torex?

Id love to know where they came up with that purchase price with no other known published value to use as a guide. Thats a big jump in value from a MS63 for $4300 that this asking price for a MS65. The fact that he only has it listed as a buy it now item, make me believe that they know the asking price is way over inflated. You can almost be positive that this was sent from grader to grader, until they found one that finally gave it the MS65. Id love to see this item in a Torex auction and let the market decide for itself what its worth.

Talked to them today just as we thought an extra 0 was mistakenly added.Just think if it sold how good that secretary would be with her boss.

I'd be very surprised to see it sell. Everyone will be watching it though. With no established price in that grade, it almost has to go to auction. I'm surprised the "best offer" button isn't there for this one ... at least they'd be able to get a feel for the market, assuming anyone would make an offer. I think they probably just want people to know this is out there :)

Rumor has it that this seller has purchased a very prestige collection of many decimal coins, all certified too.The collector that collected all this stuff was only high end coins. There are many eye openers yet to come and this 1926 far is just the begining of yet whats to come.I know I will be watching the future sales from this seller!

Gimmicks are the cornerstone of sales. But, this (and possibly these) is an important coin ... well worth watching!
