Read your recommendation back in January when you posted it. Thought I would pick one up from one of the local office supply stores. Just have not had or made the time - think I'm way to busy lately. Saw a dealer using one this weekend at a coin show. Ordered one today from Brent-Krueger on-line - should have done that months ago. After 4 months I can now mark this off my to-do list, if I can find it.

Very good recommendation. A must have in my opinion. I was using an old Bates 56 that you had to pound to get to work and it punched in the old type staple that I would use plyers on. This MAX HD50DS Standard Duty Flat-Clinch Stapler works great. Now I have less frustration, but guess I can drag out the old Bates if I need to take my frustrations out on something.

Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but the subject Flat Clinch Stapler is currently priced lower on Amazon. They're selling it for $16.87 right now, so I finally pulled the trigger. This model has been recommended umpteen times on CCF over the past several years (search "flat clinch") so I'm confident I won't be disappointed. http://www.amazon.com/Max-Flat-Clin...p/B0006HX54UJust thought I'd give a heads up in case anyone else was on the fence about making this purchase. I, for one, am looking forward to not having to clinch three staples with pliers every time I put a coin in a flip from here on!

Take it from someone who has holdered about 30,000 coins in the last year.... Try this one and you'll never look back.

Bobby, doesn't the HD-11 use mini staples? I know the HD-50 uses standard size staples.
Either way, with your endorsement of the smaller model I'm sure the full size model will be just as great!

Since I posted in this thread 4 years ago I have moved to Saflips and never looked back. I haven't stapled a 2x2 in years.

on a side note, I bought the model that is offered on Amazon in white instead of black and got a decent discount for buying the "off" color.

My HD50 arrived today, and wow it's amazing! What a strange thing to get excited about... a stapler... My wife thinks I'm nuts. "Feel this! They don't stick out at all! Look how fast I can put a coin in a flip!" Not only do they clinch flat, they drive through the 2x2 flips a lot easier than my old standard stapler. I foresee MANY less misfired staples with this thing. Woot woot!

Got mine from Wizard coin supply about 3 years ago . Will never use anything else . Throw those old staplers away , they are not meant for coin collectors .
